Perspectives on Industrial Transformation and Competitiveness in the Basque Region and India: Learning Experiences and Scope for Co-operation
Clusters are the backbone of a country’s economic development with its major involvement in international trade and domestic production. It is a well established fact that firms which are the part of strong clusters or regions with strong clusters perform better. They follow the agglomeration of economic activity and benefit in terms of better proximity to sophisticated and demand buyers, access to increasingly specialized and advanced factors of production such as human, financial capital and infrastructure and strengthen their linkages with the university and public or private institutions. Therefore Embassy of Spain, Basque Government and Institute for Competitiveness India are joining hands to discuss Investment Potential, Industry Strategy and Global Competitiveness in the Basque Region and India.
The event intends to bolster competitiveness and industry development through an Indo-Basque strategic partnership. It will help Indian and Basque clusters and organizations to improve their productivity and competitiveness at the strategic level by sharing and learning from one another experiences. The event would have discussion on following topics –

It will be attended by high level representatives from the Departments of Energy, Industry and Innovation of the Basque country. Basque Government
The Basque Government (in Basque, Eusko Jaurlaritza) is the governing body of the Basque Autonomous Community of Spain. The head of this government is the Lehendakari or Basque president, appointed by the Basque Parliament every four years. Its headquarters are located in the Lakua district of Vitoria-Gasteiz city.
