The fourth edition of the India Innovation Index 2022 deep dives in understanding the innovation landscape of the country. The fourth edition augments the scope of innovation analysis in the country by adopting the framework of the Global Innovation Index (GII) and expanding the number of indicators from 66 to 70 across seven key pillars. Building on the foundation of the last three editions, the current report presents an in-depth analysis of the state of innovation in the Indian economy. The India Innovation Index has been prepared based on extensive research and critical analysis of the states and union territories. The report presents an evaluation of the innovation readiness of states and UTs and highlights their strengths. Moreover, it identifies the areas that the states and union territories need to work upon for them to improve their innovation ecosystem.
